In 2006, we were first in the world for environmental performance. Now we’re 17th. In 2011, we were first in the world for green economic performance. Now we’re 24th. Visions for infrastructure and investment have fallen short. Innovation is down, productivity is below OECD par, high-tech exports as a percentage of total trade have fallen and climate change performance has been found wanting.

Thanks to Paul for sharing info on our site. To give folks some context these are 2018 iterations on earlier advantage frameworks of 2015 and originally from 2011 (i.e. Housing became Built Environment, Geothermal broadened to Renewables). Astute readers will join us in recognizing further transition is necessary to the content and that's underway - renewables will include green hydrogen and agtech will broaden to agriculture or even land use. Replying to

you speak of building sustainable recyclable blades for the windmill power plants. How about investing in my idea for recycling ALL plastic? I have mechanic type people, an engineer, a welder .. I need an architect to draw up my pans for either my engineers & welders to put together but need investors to pay for materials. eg Govt for transportation purposes of all plastics to one location to be made ready for the start of recycling process as the machinery I will be needing will swallow up Enormous amounts of plastics within one week, so the stock pile will need to begin shortly, eg, all council collection to go straight to KiwiRail for transportation from all cities, town, to Christchurch or possibly Rakaia or that area so as although out of city, it will also not clog up the city, get the plastic out of the cities & landfills if wanted to, just have to "pay" descent hourly rate & people will be encouraged to work. Even pay for public to collect & save plastic like aluminium cans (perhaps)
